He is a Surgeon in Ophthalmology at both the Boston Eye Surgery and Laser Center and the Cape Cod Eye Surgery and Laser Center and maintains clinical privileges at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and the Tufts New England Eye Center.
Before joining Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston, Dr. Parekh had already distinguished himself in the field of Ophthalmology with both his academic achievements and esteemed training experience.

He earned his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine (M.D.), and was then awarded the Kennedy Scholarship to attend graduate school at Harvard University’s John F. Dr. Parekh completed his ophthalmology training at the world renowned Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute, where he was the first resident to perform “bladeless” LASIK, using the Intralase laser. Following residency, Dr. Parekh spent an additional year of highly sub-specialized fellowship training with Minnesota Eye Consultants, in Minneapolis, MN, one of the most prestigious, and sought after fellowships in the United States. This experience refined his passion for conditions involving glaucoma, cataract, cornea, and laser vision correction, including LASIK.
At Penn, he performed important research on the topic of myopia development (near sightedness) at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and was supported by a research grant from the NIH (National Institute of Child Health & Human Development). At Johns Hopkins, he was awarded the A. E. Maumenee Research Grant Award, the W. Richard Green Research Grant Award and the Oliver D. Schein Research Grant Award.
