Preparation for Surgery

Once the patient and physician have decided to remove a cataract, a surgery date will be scheduled. A list of preoperative instructions will be given at that time.

If the patient and doctor have decided to use an intraocular lens as a means of improving vision, other special testing, including an ultrasound evaluation, may be performed.
